Kodagu police warning people about holding rave parties
In the event of an emergency or if any illegal activity is observed, the public is advised to call the emergency helpline number 112.
Madikeri : Kodagu police said they will crack down on rave parties and drug abuse in the district. Superintendent of police R N Bindu Mani warned against the organisation of rave parties—often disguised as “weekend parties”—that exploit the district’s tourist spots, waterfalls, and scenic landscapes to attract visitors from other districts and states. “Police have taken note of promotional materials circulating on social media scheduled from Sept 25 to 27,” she stated and advised the public to exercise caution. She said the public is urged to immediately inform the police if they receive information about illegal parties or drug networks. Authorities are taking steps to prevent the use or sale of narcotics and other unlawful activities, Mani said.
Furthermore, the police have advised citizens to report any instances of drug use, avoid accepting invitations from strangers, and exercise caution when sharing information about such events on social media.
Kodagu police had previously warned owners of homestays, resorts, and hotels against allowing illegal activities, including rave parties.
