Bengaluru: South Western Railway (SWR) launched a digital life certificate campaign to simplify the annual life certificate submission process for retired employees, enabling pensioners to submit them online.
The online submission facility will remain open in Nov, SWR said. “Several railway zones have implemented this facility earlier as well, but awareness among pensioners has remained a challenge,” an SWR official said, adding the campaign aims to familiarise retired employees with digital submission process and improve accessibility. Traditionally, railway pensioners were required to visit banks every Nov to submit life certificates to ensure uninterrupted disbursement of their pension. The new initiative offers a convenient alternative, particularly for senior citizens. The campaign will benefit pensioners and family pensioners across Bengaluru, Hubballi and Mysuru divisions. They can submit life certificates from home using either AadhaarFace RD (early access) application developed by UIDAI or Jeevan Pramaan app.
