Chitradurga : BJP MP Govind M Karjol on Saturday criticised chief minister DK Shivakumar over his remarks about possible sting operations targeting the chief minister and ministers, challenging him to disclose the names of those allegedly caught.
Speaking to reporters, Karjol said Shivakumar should avoid making statements without evidence and name those involved instead of seeking time to release documents.
“If Congress believes there is something wrong with EVMs, its leaders should resign first,” Karjol said, accusing the party of misleading the public over the issue.
He pointed out that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had won elections conducted using EVMs, while Congress had also come to power in Karnataka and Telangana under the same voting system. Responding to Congress ’s demand for a return to ballot papers, Karjol defended electronic voting machines (EVMs), saying there was no reason to abandon them.
