Bengaluru: With the India-West Indies T20 cricket match scheduled at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Oct 17, city traffic police have announced parking restrictions, designated parking facilities and specific entry and exit arrangements to ensure smooth traffic movement and prevent congestion around the stadium.
The cab and auto pickup point is at gate no 6, BRV ground on Cubbon Road. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Queens Road between Balekundri Circle, Queens Circle and CTO Junction (Jn); MG Road between Queens Circle and Anil Kumble Circle; and Link Road between MG Road and Cubbon Road. Restrictions will also apply on Lok Bhavan Road, T Chowdaiah Road, Race Course Road and both sides of Central Street Road. On Cubbon Road, parking is prohibited between CTO Circle and Manipal Circle. Restrictions also cover the stretch from Kaveri Emporium Jn to Dickenson Jn and both sides of Kamaraj Road. On St Mark’s Road, parking is prohibited between Ashirvadam and Anil Kumble Circle, and from SBI Jn to Cash Pharmacy. Museum Cross Road, between MG Road and St Mark’s Road, and Kasturba Road, between Hudson Circle and Queens Circle, will also have restrictions. Inside Cubbon Park, parking is prohibited on King Road, in front of Press Club and Bal Bhavan, and on Fountain Road. Restrictions also apply on Lavelle Road between Queens Circle and Vittal Mallya Road Jn, and on Vittal Mallya Road from Siddalingaiah Circle to Bishop Cotton Girls’ School on St Mark’s Road and from Siddalingaiah Circle to RRMR Circle. Designated parking facilities, operational from 11am to 9pm, include St Joseph’s Indian High School Ground, UB City parking area, the first floor of Shivajinagar Bus Stand, Freedom Park MLCP and St Joseph’s European Boys’ School grounds on Museum Road. Police personnel on special duty can park at the KGID Building parking area inside Cubbon Park. Stadium entry is through gates E1-E3 and E18, E19, E22 and E23 on Cubbon Road, gates E11-E17 on Link Road via Anil Kumble and BRV Circle, and gates E7-E8 on Queens Road. Exits on Queens Road are restricted to gates E9 and E9A. Gate E10 is reserved for players, support staff, stadium authorities and VIPs. Download the TOI App.
