Accused Nalina Accused Anushka Accused Nalina Accused Anushka Chitradurga : Chitradurga City police arrested two transgender persons for allegedly abducting a 22-year-old flower vendor, forcing him to undergo sex reassignment surgery , assaulting him and confining him for several days.
The accused, Anushka and Nalina, residents of Buddha Nagar in Chitradurga, were arrested near Challakere Gate and remanded in judicial custody, Chitradurga SP Kushal Chouksey said. The case was initially registered at Parashurampura police station based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father, a daily-wage labourer from Matsamudra village in Challakere taluk. It was later transferred to Chitradurga City police station.
On Sept 1, 2026, Anushka and Nalina allegedly covered his face with a veil, took him in a vehicle to Davanagere and forced him to undergo sex reassignment surgery at a hospital. On Sept 11, Nalina allegedly exposed the surgical area to intense heat from burning embers, purportedly as part of a religious ritual, causing burns to both thighs. On Sept 29, the accused allegedly sent him to beg near Challakere Circle. Unable to walk properly and suffering from weakness, he called his mother on Oct 2 and asked her to take him home. He was admitted to Parashurampura govt hospital on Oct 9, where police recorded his statement.

The victim had been living for four years at the rented house of his paternal aunt in Chitradurga, and earned a living selling flowers, according to the complaint. He became acquainted with Anushka, who regularly bought flowers from him. The accused allegedly pressured him to wear women’s clothes and dance, and forced him to do so despite his refusal. After the surgery, they allegedly confined him to a room near Stadium Road in Buddha Nagar, locking it from outside and providing him food there. Narasimhamurthy was allegedly assaulted when he cried out in pain. His father subsequently noticed bleeding near his genital area and learnt about the alleged ordeal. After initial treatment at a private hospital, Narasimhamurthy’s condition deteriorated. Further investigation is under way. Download the TOI App.
