The incident occurred around 1.30am, according to sources. The deceased were identified as Praveen Kalal, 46, and Mohan Kalal, 35. Shruti NS, deputy commissioner of police (law and order), confirmed the deaths of Praveen and Mohan.
She said the exact cause of the fire and the circumstances leading to the deaths are yet to be established. Hubballi : Two men died, and a woman sustained critical burn injuries after a fire broke out at a house in Ayodhya Nagar under Old Hubballi police station limits in the early hours of Saturday. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is under investigation. Praveen died while attempting to rescue Mohan and his wife from the burning house. Mohan suffered severe burn injuries and later succumbed while undergoing treatment at Karnataka Medical College and Research Institute (KMC-RI), Hubballi.
Old Hubballi police visited the spot and launched an investigation to determine whether the blaze was caused by an electrical short circuit or some other reason. Suman Kalal, Mohan’s wife, sustained critical burn injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at KMC-RI Hospital.
