Addressing young people during the BJP Padayatra on issues concerning youth and the development of Kalyana Karnataka, he noted that nearly 65% of India’s population is below 35 years of age and will play a key role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047.
Ballari : BJP state president BY Vijayendra said India’s youth can become the country’s greatest asset if provided quality education, skills and employment opportunities.
He said the state govt cannot avoid responsibility despite KPSC’s autonomous status and assured that speeding up recruitment and reforming KPSC would be key priorities if BJP comes to power. Referring to Kalyana Karnataka, he said several villages continue to face shortages of drinking water, doctors and teachers, while lack of educational and employment opportunities is driving youth migration. On concerns about artificial intelligence and automation, Vijayendra said technological advancements create both challenges and opportunities, and while some traditional jobs may disappear, new avenues of employment will emerge. Supporting a bicycle scheme for rural students, especially girls travelling long distances to schools and colleges, he said student welfare programmes should be strengthened.
Vijayendra termed reforms in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) a priority, citing delays in recruitment processes that have left lakhs of aspirants waiting for jobs. He also highlighted the need to strengthen govt schools through better infrastructure, quality teachers and effective leadership.
