A 23-year-old man succumbed to his injuries at KEM Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday. His death occurred days after he was reportedly struck with a stone during a financial dispute in Ulhasnagar. The incident has raised concerns about violence related to monetary disagreements in the area.

The victim, Roshan Suradkar, was allegedly assaulted by 24-year-old Rajan Gupta around 5 am on Aug 27 in Section 5, police said. Police said Suradkar and Gupta had a previous dispute, allegedly over a few hundred rupees. Gupta allegedly picked up a heavy stone and struck Suradkar on the head, leaving him unconscious on the road. Vitthalwadi police, who had initially registered an attempt-to-murder case and had arrested Gupta, have now booked him for murder. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody. Doctors found that he had suffered serious head and facial injuries and had lost vision in his left eye. Suradkar was initially taken to Ulhasnagar Central Hospital and later shifted to KEM Hospital in view of his critical condition. He was undergoing treatment in the ICU before succumbing on Sunday morning.
