Congress’s Maharashtra in-charge Sirivella Prasad

Speaking to TOI , Sirivella Prasad, the Congress’s Maharashtra in-charge, said, “While the SIR process is still on, we plan to gather detailed feedback regarding the exercise from the 62,000 booth level agents (BLAs) appointed by the party across the state. Earlier reporting noted: Singh also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi , demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss the alleged deletion of over 13 crore names from electoral rolls in different states during SIR and also the resignation of Kumar.

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Harshwardhan Sapkal said, “Congress has exposed an unholy nexus between Gyanesh Kumar and BJP . Earlier reporting noted: AAP MLA Gopal Rai said, “We will continue our movement and satyagraha wherever we find space. Pune : Congress has directed its Maharashtra unit to intensify agitations across every district in the state as part of its ongoing campaign demanding the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) row. Using the discrepancies highlighted in the SIR process, we will conduct meetings at the block level to bring the issue directly to the public and mobilise their support. Our party will take this issue to every single district in the state. The common people have realised how the system is being misused by the ruling party, and we will continue to raise our voice until justice is served. This movement will continue until SIR is scrapped, Gyanesh Kumar resigns, and free and fair elections are held in the country. Allegations that names have been wrongly deleted on such a massive scale require clarification, accountability and extensive discussion in Parliament,” he wrote.

Earlier reporting noted: “The large-scale deletion of voters’ names… has raised serious concerns about the integrity, transparency and fairness of our electoral process.
