The company manages eight airports across India.
MUMBAI: Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) will raise about USD 1 billion (Rs 9,825 crore) in primary equity from a consortium of marquee global and domestic investors, including Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and BlackRock-managed funds, the company said on Wednesday.
AAHL Secures Major Equity Investment for Airport Expansion
Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has finalized a Share Subscription Agreement and a Shareholders’ Agreement for the issuance of new equity shares, with the last tranche of investment expected to close by July 2027. This fundraising initiative represents one of the largest primary equity investments by financial institutions in India’s airport infrastructure sector.
The investment comes as India’s aviation sector experiences robust passenger growth and significant capital inflow aimed at expanding airport capacity. Jeet Adani, Non-Executive Director of AAHL, noted that this investment is a significant milestone for the company’s airport platform.
Arun Bansal, CEO of AAHL, emphasized the company’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities as it broadens its airport portfolio, which includes aeronautical operations, passenger-focused non-aeronautical businesses, and city-side development.
This equity infusion follows Adani Enterprises’ Rs 15,000-crore qualified institutional placement in July, which was the largest QIP by a non-financial corporate in India.
