The inquiry has uncovered 94 dubious student entries and three fake admissions. “The inquiry found that the 94 extra students are actually studying in other schools but were retained on the school’s rolls. While the UDISE portal showed 1,262 students for 2026-27, the SARAL portal reflected only 1,168 students, exposing a gap of 94 students.
No admission forms, attendance sheets or other supporting documents were produced for them,” zilla parishad education officer Jayashree Chavan said. An order for registering an FIR against the principal is also issued,” Chavan said. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : An official inquiry has exposed what appears to be a calculated attempt by a reputed aided school in Beed to inflate enrolment and prevent teachers from being declared surplus. The school principal has been suspended, and an FIR has also been ordered against him. The probe found that the school’s enrolment figures were artificially boosted by retaining students who were actually attending other schools, while three students from Uttarakhand were entered into the system despite not being regular admissions. The discrepancies surfaced during a scrutiny of student records and govt databases. The probe also pointed to serious procedural violations. Student entries were made directly through the principal’s central login without the mandatory physical verification by the centre head and block education officer. “Following the findings, we directed immediate suspension of the principal, to which the school management complied.
The inquiry committee has recommended stricter checks, including mandatory physical verification by centre heads and block education officers before student data is approved on the Shalarth and SARAL portals.
