The field ranged from five-year-olds to participants aged over 80, and included persons with disabilities and neurodivergent runners. Cash prizes totalling Rs 75 lakh were awarded across categories. Suneel Kumar and Sonam won the half-marathon categories.
The event was jointly organised by Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) and the Sudha Reddy Foundation. It featured 21km, 10km, 5km and 3km races. Elite runners from more than a dozen countries participated.
Ranveer, an Ambajogai resident Ranveer, had earlier made headlines for running 5km barefoot to support her children’s education. On Sunday, she joined the 5km run, barefoot again, as a symbol of determination and women’s empowerment.
