Speaking on Jarange’s demands, Fadnavis said, “The govt has accepted 12 of his 13 demands.
Citing the ongoing festival, Fadnavis said, “During Ganeshotsav, a large number of devotees throng Mumbai and Pune. The chief minister also spoke about the drought-like situation in several parts of the state and said the govt had begun working on measures to provide relief to farmers. Our govt will stand by every farmer in the state,” he said.
Jarange should not visit these cities during the festival season and add more stress on the administration. Jarange has begun his journey from Jalna to Mumbai to intensify his agitation over his pending demands. We have also explained to him the legal issues concerning the remaining demand. The state govt has always kept its doors open for discussions. “After good rainfall at the beginning of the monsoon, rainfall activity has remained low in the state. We discussed the issue during Tuesday’s cabinet meeting. The govt is working on measures to provide relief to the farming community.
Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday appealed to Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange not to visit Mumbai or Pune during the ongoing Ganesh festival and advised him to prioritise his health and seek hospitalisation. Fadnavis, along with BJP national president Nitin Nabin, visited several prominent Ganesh mandals in the city on Wednesday.
