Maruti Meshram, a resident of Arjuni Morgaon tehsil of Gondia district, suffered serious injuries in the boiler section of 660 MW Unit 10 while a coil was being extracted. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital. The unit had been shut for maintenance and repair. The principal contractor had assigned the job to another company, which further gave a petty contract to Sampat Reddy. Gate passes of all contract workers were issued through the principal contractor.
