Mumbai: The Bombay High Court refused to permit medical termination of a 26-week pregnancy of a woman (32) with an autoimmune blood disorder in the absence of a medical board’s specific finding that continuation of pregnancy due to it would endanger her life or that the foetus suffers from a life-threatening abnormality.
A bench led by Justice Bharati Dangre on Oct 19, dismissed the petition by the woman, who was above the 24-week permissible limit under MTP Act. It stated that as on Oct 17, her pregnancy was 26 weeks and 5 days.
HC noted that except for an additional opinion that the pregnancy is high-risk, the gynaecology dept had not expressed that ITP “per se would pose danger to her life. ” You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Mumbai | Silver Rate in Mumbai | Bank Holidays in Mumbai | Public Holidays in Mumbai | Mumbai AQI | Weather in Mumbai | Petrol Price in Mumbai | Diesel Price in Mumbai | CNG Price in Mumbai | LPG Price in Mumbai Stay updated with the latest Mumbai news.
