Nashik: Nashik forest department, jointly with police, will operate a joint rapid response mechanism in Saptashringi Gad during Navaratra. In view of the same, flexes and informative boards will be put up at various locations in Saptashrungi Gad warning devotees against feeding or teasing monkeys or even birds and other wildlife creatures there. In a meeting as part of festival prep, collector Ayush Prasad directed implementation of a comprehensive plan and prioritised well-coordinated security measures for a peaceful, seamless and safe festival across Nashik district. Meanwhile, police too will conduct site inspections to identify congestion points, set up barricades, enforce one-way routes and arrange dedicated parking facilities at Saptashrungi Gad, Wani and Chandwad as well. Saptashrungi Gad is an important religious site in Maharashtra with devotees visiting from across the country. The rush reaches its peak during Navratra with lakhs of devotees flooding in as the district administration puts in place various measures for the safety and convenience of devotees.
