Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A group of ticketless travellers allegedly attacked on-duty ticket checking staff at Hazur Sahib Nanded railway station on Sunday, injuring a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) and leading to the detention of 10 persons.

The train started moving, but the Train Manager (Chief Guard) noticed the chaos and stopped it,” said Rajesh Shinde, chief publicity inspector, Nanded division, SCR. “Four of the 14 persons managed to escape, while the remaining 10 were taken to the Ticket Inspector’s office and later handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Nanded,” Shinde said.
“When the staff approached to check their tickets, the group allegedly assaulted them without provocation and dragged one TTE into the moving train. Another TTE tried to intervene but could not prevent it. Other ticket checking staff and RPF personnel rushed to the spot and deboarded the group.
