Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Syed Nazer Ali, a close associate of jailed gangster Shaikh Imran Mehandi, alias Dilawar, and a co-accused in several high-profile murder cases, is battling for life after his health suddenly deteriorated inside Harsul Central Prison. He was shifted to Govt Medical College and Hospital on Sunday evening and remains on ventilator support.
Nazer Ali is considered one of the key members of Dilawar’s gang and is a co-accused in multiple murder cases registered in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2012.
Doctors said following preliminary examinations, Nazer Ali underwent dialysis before being placed on a ventilator. “He continues to remain under medical supervision,” a senior GMCH doctor said. The cases include the murders of former corporator Salim Qureshi, Nilesh Mhatre, Shaikh Naser, Sindubai Mhatre and Sirajuddin. Despite the relief, Dilawar remains behind bars as he stands convicted in another murder case and continues to face trial in three others. Nazer Ali and several other associates are also accused in those cases.
