A director, Digvijay Patil, who holds 1% share was made an accused in the case, Justice Madhav Jamdar said and asked the prosecution whether its stand was that the person holding 99% shareholding is not responsible.
Mumbai: The Bombay high court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to suspended Pune city tehsildar Suryakant Yewale in an alleged Mundhwa land deal case, but noting “serious allegations” against M/s Amadea Enterprises LLP, where Dy CM Sunetra Pawar’s son and RS MP Parth Pawar holds 99% of shares, questioned orally whether he was not a beneficiary. Parth is not an accused in the case, HC noted.
The firm is alleged to have bought a 40-acre state plot in Mudhwa at a heavily discounted price. The FIR has been registered against 9 persons for cheating, criminal breach of trust, forgery and attempt to misappropriate two govt-owned land parcels at Mauje Bopodi and 40 acres at Mundhwa, Date said in his reply. To ensure comprehensive investigation against each accused and other suspects, detailed instructions have been issued to the Pune police chief on Sept 19, 2026, he said.
Digwijay Patil has signed all documents and hence he was made accused and the sale deed in question is already cancelled by the civil court, the APP submitted.
State DGP Sadanand Date, in an affidavit filed before HC, stated that “on detailed scrutiny of investigation papers there is a need for a more professional and detailed investigation” and therefore, instructions have been issued to carry out further investigation and Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar is asked to review progress of the investigation every week. Senior advocate Harshad Nimbalkar for the tehsildar, seeking pre-arrest bail, said he would abide by any condition set by HC. The resolution passed for registration of LLP with District Industries Centre was annexed to the sale deed by the other partner. He had come after the sessions court in Pune had last Dec rejected his plea.
DGP Date in his reply also said investigation revealed that since around last 20 years, accused Sheetal Tejwani made various attempts, based on misrepresentation of facts, to get possession and ownership of the land. In 2007 she requested the revenue minister the land be regranted to the original Watandars. In 2013 the request was rejected and her 2014 petition before HC too was rejected.
With no orders in her favour, she however “with the intention to mislead and deceive, submitted various applications to the office of the additional collector” and claimed incorrectly that the lands were “regranted. ” The DGP said, “Land always remained under the ownership & possession of the government and no order regarding the regrant of the land to the watandars was ever passed by the government or by the district collector, Pune.”
