Kolhapur : Maharashtra govt has promoted deputy collector Mausami Chougule to the rank of additional collector and posted her as assistant commissioner (rehabilitation) at the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisional commissionerate. However, she will continue in her present assignment until the completion of the Special Intensive Revision exercise, as she is currently on election duty.
Govt said the promotion has been granted under the provisions of the General Administration Department’s May 7, 2021 decision governing such cases. Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Sunday, Satej Patil said Nov 3 is the deadline for electing a new chairperson.
However, officials said her transfer is part of a larger round of promotions involving several deputy collectors. If the HC directs that the adjourned Gokul meeting be reconvened, she can still preside over it,” a senior official said on condition of anonymity. Chougule was unavailable for comment. “She currently holds the post of sub-divisional officer. “The first meeting was adjourned on the technical ground of quorum.
The promotion order also makes it clear that the elevation is temporary and subject to the outcome of petitions pending before the Bombay high court and Supreme Court over seniority disputes. We hope the high court decides the matter on Monday,” Patil said.
Mahayuti should start preparing for the next election due after five years,” Patil said. He also warned that any attempt by state govt to appoint expert directors with voting rights to alter the balance of power would be challenged in court. “I do not think Mahayuti will succeed. No director from our side will leave us.
