Amravati: In a serious security lapse, a private car unauthorizedly entered Platform Number 1 of Amravati Railway Station on Thursday, prompting immediate action by the Bhusawal Division of Central Railway.
The vehicle was spotted on the platform on Sept 18. During the enquiry, the occupant stated that the car was brought onto the platform through the parcel gate to facilitate boarding of an 80-year-old unwell passenger who had difficulty walking and was scheduled to travel by the Amravati-Mumbai Express. Taking prompt cognisance of the matter, the RPF initiated action under Sections 147 and 159 of the Railways Act, as applicable under the provisions of the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act and imposed a penalty.

The Division said railway and RPF personnel remain vigilant and appealed to passengers to strictly follow access-control arrangements and instructions of railway staff, stating that passenger safety remains its highest priority. Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff rushed to the spot and initiated an enquiry. The penalty amount was deposited at the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) Amravati. The Bhusawal Division has reiterated that unauthorized entry of private vehicles into platform areas is strictly prohibited as it endangers passenger safety and hampers station operations.
