Preparations for the upcoming Ganesh festival is are in full swing by the Ganesh Mandals in the city
Nashik : With preparations for the forthcoming 12-day Ganeshotsav gathering pace across the city, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has introduced a single-window online system, for granting permissions to public Ganesh mandals. This move aims to simplify and expedite the approval process, ahead of the festival beginning on Sept 14. Last year, more than 1,200 public Ganesh mandals obtained permissions from the municipal corporation for festival-related installations across Nashik.
Officials said the single-window mechanism is expected to improve coordination among departments, enhance transparency and ensure timely processing of applications during the festival season. The new system enables mandals to obtain all mandatory no-objection certificates (NOCs) and approvals through a single platform, instead of approaching multiple departments separately. Permissions related to the fire brigade, NMC’s public works department, traffic police and other authorities will be processed through the online portal. The civic administration expects the number of applications to increase substantially over the next few days, as Ganesh mandals intensify preparations for the annual festival. Last month, the NMC had issued a public notice, urging Ganesh mandals to use the online portal to secure mandatory permissions for erecting pandals, stages and welcome arches within municipal limits.
