The Marine Drive police in Mumbai have apprehended a 40-year-old woman from Palghar in connection with the theft of gold and diamond jewelry valued at Rs five lakh. The stolen items belonged to the parents of actors Ameesha Patel and Ashmit Patel, and were taken from their flat located in Churchgate. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police said that Ghate was working as domestic help at the residence of Patel’s parents. The accused has been identified as Seema Ghate, a resident of Palghar. Following a complaint filed by Patel’s mother, the police conducted a probe and took Ghate in custody. Download the TOI App.
