On recruitment, the government accepted the demand for increasing vacancies for the Group C examination scheduled for January 3. Rules have been framed for 60 per cent of departments, while the process is underway for the remaining departments, it said. Following the meeting, job seekers decided to temporarily suspend their protest scheduled for October 2. The government will announce vacancies for three years together and begin the recruitment process for posts falling vacant due to retirement one year in advance. A system will also be developed so that candidates do not have to repeatedly submit the same documents.
The government also accepted a demand for a record increase in Group C vacancies and said recruitment exams would continue to be held offline. The decisions followed a detailed meeting between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and a delegation of aspirants preparing for MPSC exams, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Further action would be taken based on its findings, the statement said. “The transfer of the MPSC Secretary will be carried out immediately,” it said. The government said MPSC examinations would continue to be conducted offline and no change would be made without discussions with all stakeholders. The increase in vacancies would be a “record”, the statement said. A complete recruitment schedule will be finalised within a month, according to the statement.
The government is preparing to fill a record number of vacancies as recruitment rules in several departments are being revised. The government also plans to introduce a single card through which candidates can appear for all examinations at a nominal cost. Download the TOI App.
