Mumbai: Actor Tiger Shroff ’s driver, Firdaus Ibrahim Baloch (48), who suffered a bullet injury during the attack on the actor, has been discharged from Nanavati Hospital. Baloch, a Jogeshwari West resident who has worked with Shroff’s family for 28 years, was driving the actor’s BMW when two men allegedly opened fire.

General surgeon Dr Ram Prajapati, who was part of the team that operated on him, said Chauhan required continuous monitoring as he had developed pneumonia . We have advised him to rest as he is still in recovery,” he said. Doctors said he had a lucky escape as the bullet entered through the space below the heart and the lung and did not damage any vital organ. Had it entered through a space just slightly higher, it would have impacted the heart and Chauhan would not have survived, said Dr Uday Jadhav, head of the cardio-vascular thoracic surgery department at the hospital.

A bullet got lodged in the driver’s forearm and his right ring finger was fractured. “He is able to resume normal activities. Chauhan’s next assessment will be in a couple of weeks.
