Nagpur: A 55-year-old woman died on the spot and her husband suffered injuries after a container truck rammed their two-wheeler from behind on Jabalpur Highway within Pardi police station limits on Tuesday afternoon.
Prakash Deshmukh (60), a civil contractor from Kharbi, and his wife Anita were riding a bike towards Mouda when the accident occurred near a dhaba at around 4.30 pm. A search has been launched to trace him. Police said the driver of container truck allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner, hit the motorcycle from the rear, and fled. Pardi police have registered a case against the truck driver, who is absconding. Download the TOI App.
Fatal Incident Involving Truck and Pedestrian
Anita was fatally struck by a truck, resulting in her immediate death at the scene. Prakash, who was also involved in the incident, suffered injuries to his leg and face. He was subsequently treated at Life Line Hospital.
