Additional chief executive officer of Nagpur Zilla Parishad had submitted the proposal seeking B-Category status for the temple, according to an official statement. Revenue minister and Nagpur guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, who had pursued the proposal, said Adasa is an important centre of faith in Vidarbha. Nagpur: Historic Adasa Ganesh Temple, one of the district’s prominent religious destinations in Kalmeshwar taluka, has been accorded ‘B-Category’ rural pilgrimage centre status by Maharashtra govt. The decision has paved the way for planned development of the temple precinct and improving facilities for devotees while also giving a fillip to religious tourism in the region. Believed to be centuries old, Adasa Ganesh Temple is among Nagpur district’s well-known religious and cultural landmarks and attracts devotees from across Vidarbha. The rural development department granted the temple the status under Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Rural Pilgrimage Site Scheme (B-Class).
