Nashik : A 31-year-old farmer had a narrow escape after two bike-borne men allegedly fired two rounds at him in Nashik’s Adgaon area on Sunday afternoon. Police have registered an attempt to murder case against the two suspects and launched a manhunt.

Senior inspector Pravin Chavan, of Adgaon police station, said the incident took place around 1.45pm near a school in the area.

He was riding his motorcycle when two men on another bike chased him and opened fire, according to the complainant. A case of attempt to murder has been registered, and teams have been deployed to trace the two accused, police said. The assailants allegedly fired two rounds, but both missed the target, allowing the farmer to escape unhurt. Police suspect the attack stemmed from a personal grudge.

Police said the suspect spotted the farmer on Sunday afternoon, followed him along with an associate and allegedly opened fire.

However, the suspect continued to harbour a grudge,” Chavan said. A dispute had arisen between them, following which the farmer’s family asked his wife to quit the job.

“The prime suspect and the farmer’s wife earlier worked in the same company.
