Nashik : The anti-narcotics cell of Nashik city police arrested two youths in Mhasrul area, and seized 56g of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs1.5 lakh. The police also seized a two-wheeler and cell phones, bringing the total value of the seized property to Rs2.14 lakh.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Darshan Gorakh Gaikwad (22) and Roshan Dinkar Lokhande (23), both residents of Matori of Nashik taluka. PI Ramdas Shelke of anti-narcotics cell said that on Monday at around 8.30pm, a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances patrolling team spotted a two-wheeler parked suspiciously near an open ground, close to an auto-rickshaw stand at Ashwamedh Nagar. During the search conducted in the presence of a forensic team, officers recovered 21.5g of MD worth Rs 64,500 from one of Darshan Gaikwad’s pockets and another 35.5g worth Rs1.05 lakh from his other pocket.
