The recent autopsy reports from the District Women’s Hospital (Daffrin Hospital) in Amravati have confirmed the causes of death for three infants. Two infants succumbed to severe burn injuries, while the third infant died from suffocation. These findings have raised significant concerns regarding safety protocols at the facility.

Preliminary Findings on Fatal Fire Incident Involving Newborns

On August 24, a tragic fire incident resulted in the death of two newborns. According to preliminary findings from police sources, Kiran Bethekar’s newborn sustained 75.5% burns and died from shock related to the injuries. At the time of the fire, the infant was on ventilator support and suffered severe burns to multiple body parts, including the head and hair.

In a separate case, Pooja Borange’s one-day-old baby experienced 4% burns. The cause of death was attributed to smoke inhalation, which led to significant breathing difficulties.

Authorities have preserved viscera and other necessary samples for a final report, which is expected to provide further details on the incident.
