Pune: A gang of six armed men barged into a farmer’s house at Malthan village in Daund taluka, about 108km from Pune, and robbed a gold chain and two cellphones collectively worth Rs86,000. Farmer Bhagwan Dalvi (51) lodged a complaint with the Daund police. An officer from the Pune Rural police said that around 2.30am on Wednesday, the six armed men barged into the complainant’s house.

They also snatched two mobile handsets and fled on two motorcycles,” the officer said. He said the farmer then alerted his neighbours and the police. “We have registered a case under sections 310 (dacoity) and 311 (robbery or dacoity with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS),” he said.
