Pune: An ex-serviceman was found hanging from a tree at Chandoli village on Wednesday, three days after he allegedly strangled his wife to death and attempted to kill his son at their home in Khed on Aug 30. Atharva, however, still tried to wake up his mother. The ex-serviceman saw this and allegedly attempted to strangle Atharva with a dupatta and attacked him with a knife. Suspect Found Dead After Alleged Homicide
Mahendra Daundkar, 45, was discovered hanging from a tree along the Bhima River in Chandoli village on Wednesday morning. He had been evading authorities following the alleged murder of his wife, Deepa, 40. According to a Khed police officer, search teams were deployed to locate Daundkar after the incident.
On Aug 30, the ex-serviceman’s son, Atharva (17), returned home around 11.30 pm and found that his mother was unresponsive.
