Home-based entrepreneurs and local snack makers said customers are increasingly placing advance orders to avoid the last-minute rush. Home-based entrepreneurs and local snack makers said higher prices for edible oil, ghee, dry fruits, nuts, sugar, and other ingredients have driven up production costs, forcing them to revise their rates ahead of the festive season. However, we are still seeing good demand from households despite the price revisions,” said Prarthana Divekar, a food entrepreneur based in Magarpatta. The cost has gone up, but we don’t really have an option right now,” said Namrata Salve, a resident of Hadapsar. This way, I am confident about the quality and freshness of the ingredients used,” said a local buyer.
