Pune: The anti-terrorism branch (ATB) of Pimpri Chinchwad police on Wednesday raided a cosmetics shop in Pimpri and seized unauthorised “Made in Pakistan” beauty cream. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) recently flagged Goree Beauty Cream and another cream as unauthorised for import into India. “It contained excessive levels of heavy metals beyond specified limits. These metals could pose health risks,” they had stated. The state Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had also declared the cream and two other cosmetic products substandard and ordered action against their sale and distribution.
