Nearly 51 TMC of surplus floodwater will be lifted from Krishna river near Satpewadi in Walva taluka of Sangli district and conveyed to Nira river in Satara district, according to the MRDP concept report. The water will subsequently be released into Nira Left Bank Canal system to help address water requirements in drought-prone parts of Solapur district.
