Arrests Made in Illegal Sex Determination and Abortion Racket
Police in Kolhapur have arrested two employees from a private hospital, Sandhya Londe (42) and Sandip Patil (40), for their involvement in an illegal sex determination and abortion scheme. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to nine, with 16 individuals identified as part of the operation.
Londe and Patil are accused of acting as agents, allegedly bringing pregnant women to the hospital for illegal sex determination tests. Reports indicate that women who were found to be carrying female fetuses were referred for abortions.
Currently, nine of the 16 accused are in magistrate custody. Authorities are continuing their investigation to locate the remaining suspects and to expose the broader network implicated in this illegal activity.
