MUMBAI: A passenger fell onto a railway platform after a fight broke out between commuters inside a Churchgate-Virar fast local, according to an undated video that has surfaced on social media. Railway police said no complaint had been registered with the Government Railway Police (GRP) in connection with the incident. A GRP officer said the railway station could not be identified from the video and that nobody had approached any GRP police station to report the incident.
The incident reportedly took place between Grant Road and Mumbai Central stations. The video shows two passengers engaged in a scuffle near the doorway of the moving train following an argument over standing near the entrance. During the altercation, one of them appears to fall out of the train onto the platform. The exact date and circumstances of the incident could not be independently established. Preliminary information suggests that the passenger who fell may not have sustained serious injuries and left the station without approaching the police. He added that the police were making efforts to identify the station. Further action would be taken after examining the CCTV footage. Download the TOI App.
