In the clip, the worker reportedly told Chavan that BJP cadre were facing sharp criticism from farmers and citizens who believed the region was facing drought-like conditions despite being left out of the notified list. At one stage, Chavan was purportedly heard telling the worker to “remain calm and face the criticism”, while asking party workers to trust the process and wait for further developments. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: An alleged audio call between BJP MP Ashok Chavan and a party worker has gone viral, escalating the political row over Mudkhed and Mukhed talukas being left out of state govt’s drought-relief list. In the audio clip, a party worker was allegedly heard confronting former CM Chavan over the omission of Mudkhed from the drought list, saying residents were angry and demanding answers. The worker, however, continued to question why Mudkhed and Mukhed were excluded when almost the entire state, including most of Marathwada, received drought recognition.
Nanded collector Rahul Kardile, however, said Mudkhed and Mukhed would be reassessed under the next evaluation trigger scheduled for early Oct. Officials have maintained that both talukas had failed to meet the trigger-I criteria under the state’s drought assessment framework.
