The restoration follows a contempt petition filed in February over the state’s failure to implement the Aurangabad bench’s Oct 6, 2025 order, which had quashed the June 29, 2022, notification dissolving the elected board and appointing an administrator. On Oct 14, a division bench of Justice Sandipkumar More and Justice Vaishali Patil-Jadhav took a strong view of the delay after being informed that the order had still not been complied with. 2, principal secretary, to comply with the order anyhow within two weeks, otherwise he shall remain present before this court,” the bench had said while posting the matter to Oct 28. The Aurangabad bench, on Oct 6, 2025, set aside govt’s decision and directed it to restore the board to the position it held immediately before June 29, 2022. Acting on that order, govt has now reinstated the board constituted on March 8, 2019, under the provisions of the 1956 Act.
A notification signed by deputy secretary Bhagwan Sawant states that the board is being restored to its original position. Stay updated with the latest Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar news.
