The attacks on Venugopal are reported to have intensified during a controversy involving the selection of chief minister that followed the election results, though police have not detailed the specific content of the posts.
Kottayam : Alappuzha Cyber Police have registered a case against five persons, all identified as Congress sympathisers, in connection with a cyberattack targeting AICC general secretary K C Venugopal, police said. Police said the social media profiles of two of the individuals had photographs with chief minister V D Satheesan. Cases have been registered against Siju Samuel, K P Hamsa, Jafar K Aliyar Kattikunnath, Abdulkhader Reshi and P C Pulamanthol under the Information Technology Act and other relevant provisions, police said.
The case follows a complaint filed two months ago by Congress’s Johnson Abraham directly with the DGP, listing details of five social media accounts.
