The man sexually abused the nine-year-old girl while she was returning from school
Palakkad : The Alathur fast-track special Pocso court on Monday sentenced a 66-year-old man to five years’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 on him for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old schoolgirl in Feb last year.
The prosecution said the convict, Rajan Modamparambu from Erimayur, allegedly assaulted the girl while she was returning home from school.
During the trial, the prosecution examined 18 witnesses and produced 23 documents as evidence. Judge Santhosh K Venu pronounced the sentence. The case was registered by then Alathur sub-inspector Vivek Narayanan.
