Palakkad : An excise team has seized 216 ATM and credit cards from a Gujarat native during an inspection at Walayar checkpost. The accused, Odethara Ravi Bheema, a native of Porbandar , was arrested during a vehicle inspection conducted as part of Operation Thunder. He was travelling from Hyderabad to Ernakulam on an interstate private bus when it was stopped at the checkpost. Officers found ATM and credit cards issued by various banks and financial institutions in the names of different individuals in his possession. The excise team then handed over Bheema and the cards to Walayar Police. The cops are probing how Bheema obtained the cards and whether they were collected or used for unauthorised financial transactions. They are also examining whether he has links with any organised financial fraud network and whether he has international connections. The inspection was led by excise circle inspector T R Mukesh Kumar, with five other officers. Download the TOI App.
