Madurai/Ramanathapuram: Ahead of the 69th death anniversary of Immanuel Sekaran to be observed at Paramakudi on September 11, the Madurai and Ramanathapuram police have made extensive security and traffic measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the event.

Around 8,000 personnel would be deployed across the district, with 938 sensitive and important locations identified for special security arrangements, according to the Ramanathapuram district police.

Vehicles travelling from Thoothukudi and Tirunelveli districts should travel via Aruppukottai, Tiruchuzhi and Parthibanur to reach Paramakudi, according to the Madurai district police. Police said only private vehicles belonging to visitors would be permitted for the memorial event, and hired vehicles would not be allowed. After paying homage at the memorial site, they should return through the same route. Similar arrangements have been made for vehicles arriving from Virudhunagar district.
