Kochi : K A Ratheesh, an accused in the alleged Cashew Corporation graft case, has approached the high court seeking permission to continue as secretary of the Kerala Khadi and Village Industries Board by withdrawing his resignation, which he tendered after the govt granted sanction to prosecute him in the case.
In his IA, Ratheesh contended that he was compelled to tender his resignation as a result of the impugned orders of the single bench, the operation of which has been stayed by the division bench. He expressed his willingness to continue in service by withdrawing his resignation, claiming that the impugned orders issued by the single bench were without jurisdiction. The IA further stated that unless the court permitted him to withdraw his resignation and continue in service, govt might not allow him to do so, resulting in serious injustice that could not be remedied.
The division bench will consider the IA along with the appeals on Friday.
