Kottayam : Ettumanoor Police have taken a youth into custody for allegedly hacking into a classmate’s Instagram account and morphing her photographs, along with those of other classmates, into obscene images.
The complainant and her friends came across the images on Sept 3, following which she approached the police alleging defamation and mental distress, said the cops. The accused illegally accessed the complainant’s Instagram account and used photographs taken during college events to create fake obscene images, using his mobile phone and laptop, according to the complaint. The fabricated images were allegedly stored in a hidden folder on his phone, the police said. The accused has been taken into custody, and his mobile phone and laptop have been sent for detailed examination, the police said.
