Kochi : North Paravur Police registered a case against four persons for allegedly assaulting a KSU worker following the organisation’s victory in a college union election at Kesari Govt Arts and Science College, North Paravur on Monday.
The accused, Akhil Suresh, Yasin, Adithyan and Kasinadh, allegedly attacked KSU worker Sreesanth P, 21, and another student Sibin Benny around 4pm on the college campus. Police registered a case under Sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons), 110 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. As per the FIR, the accused were SFI or DYFI workers. Sreesanth allegedly sustained injuries after one of the accused struck him on the head with a broken wooden plank. He was also allegedly hit on the right shoulder, neck and knee. The accused allegedly assaulted Sibin and tore Sreesanth’s shirt during the incident. Download the TOI App.
