Kottayam: Govt and the party have taken strict action in connection with the incident in which chief minister V D Satheesan’s vehicle was blocked, electricity minister Sunny Joseph said.
Joseph said the police have registered a case against those involved in the incident and that the party has taken disciplinary action against those found to have erred at the organisational level. He said the chief minister had been informed about the cancellation of the prescheduled programme, and that blocking the vehicle in a manner intended to force participation in the event was a wrong action. “Govt and the party are taking an impartial stance against those responsible for the lapse,” he said. Speaking in Kottayam, he also said there are no group rivalries whatsoever within the party.
Responding to questions on the selection of the new KPCC president, Joseph said there are several people within Congress qualified for the post, and that a suitable candidate would be chosen from among them.
