Madras high court has directed officials of Nagercoil directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption (DVAC) to conduct an inquiry into a complaint alleging that an advocate with political affiliation collected huge sums of money from practising advocates in Kanyakumari district by assuring govt advocate posts.
Madurai: Madras high court has directed officials of Nagercoil directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption (DVAC) to conduct an inquiry into a complaint alleging that an advocate with political affiliation collected huge sums of money from practising advocates in Kanyakumari district by assuring govt advocate posts. The court passed the order while disposing of a petition filed by B Jeganraj of Kanyakumari district. The petitioner sought a direction to DVAC officials to conduct an inquiry based on his representation and initiate appropriate action. During the course of the hearing, the state submitted that the complaint of the petitioner has been forwarded to Directorate of Prosecution to submit a report. Taking into account the submission, Justice P Murugan directed the deputy superintendent of police of Nagercoil DVAC to conduct an inquiry into the matter as per the Tamil Nadu Vigilance Code and take an appropriate decision on merits and in accordance with law within four weeks from the date of receipt of the report from Directorate of Prosecution.
