Idukki : A grade assistant sub-inspector (ASI) attached to the Idukki district crime branch has been suspended for allegedly violating police headquarters guidelines governing the use of social media.

Idukki district police chief A Nasim had earlier said that a report had been submitted to crime branch ADGP after posts and comments made by the officer, Sajitha Salim, on Facebook and other social media platforms came to the notice of the police. The district police chief had said that strict departmental action would be taken against the officer. The suspension followed the report. She was subsequently posted to the Idukki district crime branch in accordance with departmental orders.

Salim had earlier served at the Perumbavoor police station before being transferred to the crime branch.
