The FIR was registered on Oct 9 against Rajendran, his brother Chelladurai, VAO Arulmari, zonal deputy tahsildar Mohideen Pattani, land survey firka officer of Kurukkalpatti Usha and the sub-registrar of Melaneelithanallur. The case pertains to registrations allegedly made between 2008 and 2019. Complainant Murugaiah, a differently abled resident of Akkamalai in Coimbatore district, alleged that his family’s ancestral land measuring about 9.7 acres in Thirumalapuram village was illegally transferred through fraudulent documentation, according to the FIR. The complainant also alleged that portions of the land were encroached upon and included in property declarations submitted by the MLA during the 2026 assembly election.
Murugaiah alleged that land standing in the joint names of his late father and uncle was sold and subsequently registered through a series of transactions without obtaining legal heir certificates or the consent of rightful heirs. He further claimed that the land was later converted into housing plots and sold to third parties. He accused certain revenue and registration officials of facilitating patta transfers and registrations without proper documentation.
